Bridging the Visibility Gap: Datadog and Google Cloud Host Hybrid Technical Workshop to Accelerate Cloud Performance
BERLIN – Datadog and Google Cloud have announced a joint Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) workshop taking place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. The event, titled "SRE Fundamentals: Developing & Calculating SLOs," is designed to help technical teams treat operations as a software problem to maintain high-availability services at scale.
The workshop will be held as a hybrid event, hosted in person at the Google Office in Berlin (Tucholskystraße 2) and accessible worldwide via a virtual livestream starting at 1:30 pm CET.
Focus on SLOs and Critical User Journeys The curriculum is centered on the practical implementation of SRE principles developed at Google. Led by Pierre Quemard, Solutions Architect at Datadog, and Jasper Bernhardt, Customer Engineer for SRE & Platform Engineering at Google Cloud, the session will guide attendees through the process of developing Service Level Objectives (SLOs) derived from Critical User Journeys (CUJs).
Participants will explore how to properly implement Service Level Indicators (SLIs) to measure platform changes and ensure infrastructure resilience. The workshop aims to provide a clear starting point for enterprises looking to build these capabilities within their own platforms.
Curriculum and Hands-on Learning The technical agenda covers several core pillars of SRE and cloud operations:
* SRE Fundamentals: Understanding the principles of resilience in the cloud.
* Metrics Development: Creating SLOs with proper CUJs and SLIs.
* Deployment Archetypes: Analyzing architectures that allow for quick deployment while maintaining stability.
* Enterprise Implementation: Navigating the "Dos and Don’ts" of starting an SRE practice in an enterprise environment.
To ensure the lessons extend beyond the classroom, all participants will be provided with a dedicated lab environment in Datadog. This allows attendees to practice the capabilities and methodologies discussed during the workshop in a controlled, real-world setting.
Event Logistics - The in-person session begins at 1:00 pm CET at the Google Berlin office, with the virtual streaming component running from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm CET. The event is open to professionals interested in cloud monitoring, infrastructure management, and site reliability.
Registration is currently open for both the in-person and virtual tracks through the official Datadog partner portal.
